Who We Are

About Us

Chocolate Chix Logo

Chocolate Chix exists as a radiant movement — born from love and sisterhood— to empower women of color to rise, thrive, and serve. What began as a small sisterhood of women united by compassion has evolved into a full-fledged female empowerment organization that stands for more than camaraderie; it stands for transformation. At its heart, Chocolate Chix believes that when women of color are encouraged to evolve in every aspect of their lives—emotionally, spiritually, financially, and professionally—the entire community benefits.

Chocolate Chix shares a commitment to our pillars: sisterhood, strength of character, self-evolvement, and of course, service. We purpose to maintain healthy balance of fun and philanthropy that turns, what could be viewed as work into an opportunity for wellness. Our organization is situated between Los Angeles and Compton — the perfect proximity to make an impact on those who need us most.

Our Purpose and Passion

Founded by visionary, Jamil Houston, Chocolate Chix took root in the belief that authentic sisterhood and meaningful service can coexist beautifully. Situated between Los Angeles and Compton, the organization builds bridges of compassion and competence across communities often overlooked. Through a spirit anchored in love, we are determined to equip and uplift women to overcome barriers in leadership, financial literacy, and life balance.

Chocolate Chix exists to champion women of all colors —encouraging personal growth, advancing career readiness, and ensuring financial empowerment. But empowerment here doesn’t stop at the individual—it’s a call to serve. Every woman who becomes a “Chix” is also called to be a light in her community.
